An Invitation to Give Together Over the Next 90 Days at theRefuge Church
Dear Refuge Family and Friends of Refuge,
As we come to the close of another year, we want to begin with three simple words: thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thank you for your faithfulness.
Thank you for your generosity.
Thank you for your prayers and your love for what God is doing here at theRefuge!
We never assume it. We never take it lightly. It is a gift to pastor a church family that loves Jesus, loves one another, and continues to show up—week after week—with open hands and willing hearts.
As we look toward the end of this year and step into a new one, we believe the Lord is giving us a clear and gracious opportunity—an opportunity to care well for what He has entrusted to us and to prepare thoughtfully for the days ahead. We’re calling this season of giving BOOM 90!
What do we mean by BOOM 90?
The heart behind this is simple—and pastoral.
BOOM speaks to those who feel led to give immediately. Some of you are in a season where you’re able to respond now—before the year ends. These gifts allow us to meet present needs, move forward on projects already in place, and for some, steward year-end or tax-advantaged giving wisely.
90! speaks to both the goal and the grace of time. Over the 90 days following Christmas, our prayer is to raise $90,000. That allows others to participate thoughtfully—through a one-time gift or by giving steadily over the first 90 days of 2026.
We know this to be true: people give in different ways and on different timelines. BOOM 90! is not about forcing everyone into the same lane—it’s about walking in the same direction, together, with one shared vision and one shared heart.
Why BOOM 90? Why now?
God has been kind to theRefuge Church!
We are seeing growth—not just in numbers, but in depth. We’re seeing relationships form, discipleship happen, and ministry opportunities open up in our community. With that growth comes responsibility—the responsibility to steward our space, our resources, and our visibility in a way that serves the mission well.
The needs before us are not ideas we’re still dreaming about. They are practical, tangible projects—already planned, already priced, and ready to move forward as God provides.
What will BOOM 90 help fund?
Your generosity will help us move forward on several specific needs, including:
A new interstate-facing sign—our building is strategically located facing I-40, but nothing exists to identify who we are and where we are. But now - we are good to go! Our sign is already designed and ready for installation, helping people in our community more easily find Refuge!
Estimated cost: $20,000
Grading and repurposing the land behind the building—** two-fold need** despite already doing a lot of work behind the building by installing some drains - any heavy rain has a tendency to overwhelm the system and flood our building because of the original poor design. Changing this will eliminate the water pouring toward our building - while at the same time prep the space in allowing us to create usable outdoor space for future ministry gatherings and connection.
Estimated cost: $19,000
A new fence facing the interstate—improving safety, security, and the care of our property.
Estimated cost: $15,000
Exterior repainting—caring for our facility as an act of stewardship and hospitality.
Estimated cost: $14,000
Acoustical treatment in the Gathering Room—so the Word is heard clearly, without distraction, as we gather for worship and teaching.
Estimated cost: $16,000
None of these stand alone. Together, they serve one purpose: helping us welcome people well, disciple families faithfully, and proclaim the gospel clearly for years to come.
How can you be part of this?
We are simply asking you to pray—and then respond as the Lord leads.
There are two pathways:
BOOM – A one-time gift given before 2025 ends or early in the initiative.
90! – A gift given over the first 90 days of 2026, allowing for planned and intentional generosity.
Some will give immediately.
Some will give over time.
What matters most is not equal giving—but shared obedience, offered joyfully and freely.
Our heart as pastors
This is not about pressure.
This is not about guilt.
And this is certainly not about numbers for numbers’ sake.
This is about trust—trusting that God provides through His people, and trusting that when we move forward together, He is faithful to meet us there.
Our prayer is that BOOM 90! Will be marked not by stress, but by gratitude; not by obligation, but by joy; not by fear, but by faith.
