We are confident that through the Scriptures and the power of His Spirit, God has given us everything we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3-4), satisfaction in our lives and interactions with others, and a deeper awareness of the closeness and love of our Heavenly Father. Because of this, the Scriptures are held as the final authority in all matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Click on the request button above to fill out a simple form and one of our Intake Coordinators will follow up with you within 24 hours.

  • For those who call theRefuge Church their home church, Biblical Counseling is provided at no cost.

    For others, Biblical Counseling is provided for a well-below-market fee of $75/session for individuals and $100/session for couples.

  • You can expect your Biblical Counselor to try to “get to the heart” of the issues you’re facing. The more open and honest you are, the more our counselors will be able to serve you.

    Fundamentally, Biblical Counselors are guided by the Holy Spirit and the Word of God to point you to where healing can be found in your specific situation.

    However, don’t expect every answer to merely be “pray more and read the Bible more”. While that is certainly two of the spiritual disciplines the Lord often uses to draw us closer to Him, our Biblical Counselors at theRefuge strive to help you work out the issues you’re facing in practical ways that can be used in your everyday life.

  • In addition to decades of combined pastoral experience, Biblical Counselors at theRefuge Church have been certified through the Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF).

  • Our Biblical Counselors hold to confidentiality strongly. The only times confidentiality would not be held is:

    • in circumstances where state law prohibits.

    • in rare instances of repetitive unrepentant sin where the Scriptures (Matthew 18:15- 20) would lead a Biblical Counselor to speak with your pastor(s) (if applicable) to help care for you. But you would always be told if these situations were to arise.

  • Our Biblical Counselors help you to focus on one specific issue you feel you could use assistance in working through. They will help give you tools to work through these issues and hopefully be able to use them in your everyday life.

    Because of this approach, you should expect to have 4-8 sessions with your Biblical Counselor, without the need to meet perpetually.

    However, each case it evaluated individually and you will have that conversation with your Biblical Counselor.

  • Our Biblical Counseling sessions are typically held Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm .

    However exceptions can be made in extreme circumstances and can be worked out with your Intake Coordinator.
