Becoming Family at Refuge Church

At Refuge, we strive to be a good, healthy family. There are some aspects to life that naturally happen when we live as a family of believers:

We believe that discipleship and mission happen best in community. We also believe strongly that being a disciple of Jesus means more than learning theology or doing private spiritual disciplines. Being a disciple of Jesus entails learning to follow him on mission.

Any given month should include an opportunity for everyone to experience each one of our values:

  • Gospel - how is the gospel changing me and my character?

  • Community - how can the gospel form us into a loving family?

  • Mission - how can the gospel change my neighborhood and or my city?

Give

We give out of response of what God has already done for us through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. We don't give because of what we expect Him to do. In other words, our giving isn't 'purchasing blessings' from God; our giving is simply a response to the Gospel

Get Involved

As members of the body of Christ, we're gifted in unique and diverse ways. God gives us these skillsets in order to serve His Church and ultimately spread the Gospel among the nations. Being family at the Refuge means using the gifts God has given you to serve the Church and her mission of "...making disciples among the nations."

There is no shortage of ways to serve: planning events, cooking food, taking photos, playing an instrument, swinging a hammer... the list goes on and on.

Talk to one of our Pastors, Gospel Community Group (GC) Leaders, or volunteer staff to learn how to get involved and serve the Church!
